This CV theme is clean, has a minimalistic design, and so spacious. That makes your information on the CV more readable, thus becoming an effective and ideal online CV.

Besides, the harmonious details like fonts, color, menu, layouts, ... helps your resume attractive and professional.

Color and Font

Everything is put on a white background, embellished by some dashed lines and box-shadow effects. They are adequate for a clean and minimal CV to be more special and unique. But to me, the background has high "whiteness" while the color of the font is light grey, so I will suffer from eyestrain after looking at this theme so long.

Moreover, with some minor parts highlighted with fresh blue color and sophisticated elements, it brings an ethereal and delicate look to your CV.

Menu and Footer

The special design of this theme lies in the sticky vertical sidebar menu. It looks airy and tidy with each section is in a large and spacious tab. Notably, the icons can visualize the sections and make this area more funny, lovely. Besides, the hamburger menu opens a sidebar with prominent buttons and tabs. It also includes small lovely icons and looks clean and well-organized.

As you can see in the demo, there is nothing in the footer. When I utilized this free theme to review it, there is a copyright text here. I think not having footer widgets or texts is a smarter idea because your CV can be minimized and then, it helps recruiters focus on your major content.

Home Page and Other Pages

Online CV Resume has a beautiful homepage to showcase your personality and experience in a smooth and attractive way. For example, this portfolio section has a sleek and tidy layout, smooth transition. Therefore, if I was a recruiter, I could easily follow the portfolio and I'd really be impressed with this design.

This homepage is built with Elementor so you can change the style freely as you want. But the demo is good to me so I won't change it.

Now move to the archive page where you can exhibit your article in an overwhelming way. The large featured images with lively zoom-in effect give me a strong impression at first sight. Distinctively, this free WordPress online CV theme supports video post types so you can put your video as a featured image here. However, I chose different sizes of featured image and video and they are all displayed in a default frame. Hence, you should select or crop them carefully before uploading them.

Single post pages are clear and easy to follow. The line spacing is good and texts are readable. You can also display your beautiful feature image or featured video here stunningly. And I can say that not many free WordPress theme support featured video like this.

Responsive

I tested this free WordPress CV theme on my tablet, laptop, and mobile. It still looks fine on any screen. I really love how it looks on a tablet. It just like a real notebook.

Generally, it's complicated to set up this theme.

After I install free Online SV Resume, I just have a sidebar menu and the hamburger menu that look like the demo while the rest of my site doesn't.

To set up it, you have only one method: using Elementor page builder. If you're not familiar with this tool, it'll be difficult. You have to set up a homepage and Elementor template, and then start dealing with Elementor from scratch.

It's okay if you spend time learning this tool. However, I found a problem. To resemble the demo, which is the pro version, you need special Elementor modules from the author (you can find it in their documentation). Meanwhile, in this free version, you're just provided with common widgets from free Elementor. Therefore, I can say that it's really difficult to have a website like the demo.

The most powerful feature of this theme is Elementor page builder compatibility. However, this free version doesn't support additional toolkit for Elementor, so you have to buy a pro version if you want to use them.

Other features are quite adequate to use for a simple online CV theme, but it lacks social media linking to help people connect with you more easily.

You have two choices to customize this free online CV theme: using Elementor page builder or using Live Customizer.

As I mentioned in the Installation and Set-Up section, you just have basic widgets from Elementor. But thankfully, all of them work well with this theme so you just need to drag and drop them and edit normally.

The Customizer doesn't have many options. It just provides you with basic needs like color, background, header image, ... which are all simple to manipulate just like most of the other simple themes I've reviewed.

However, there are still some limited points, for example, you can't change the typography and font, and a few things I reviewed below.

I wish there are more color sections, or at least I can replace the green color of some highlight elements if I'm bored with green.

Similarly, I added widgets to the home page hero widget area but I couldn't find it anywhere, even on the homepage, archive pages, or any inner pages.

Using this free WordPress theme daily is simple with Gutenberg editor and standard blocks.

I checked SEO work using some special methods. The result is that this theme hasn't been totally ready for SEO yet so I think you should install an SEO plugin.

As for speed, it's not really good. You'd better use some ways to speed up your site.

The documentation covers all instructions for Online CV Resume pro, not the free version. There are many different features between these two versions, especially the homepage set up so it's difficult for me to find the needed information for the free theme.

Besides, the author seems to focus on using image rather than wording. Therefore, the documentation with few words maybe not understandable enough for a beginner like me.

There is a support forum where every user, even free users can discuss freely. But you just can view the topic after registering and login in, which is free and really quick.

The author team often reply to all users, but some topic created 7 days ago hasn't received any answer yet. I guess that they're just busy with a tone of questions.
