Intuitive Theme Review

General design

The aesthetic design of this theme is both clean and careful, so irresistible. The author uses both straight and curved lines to build the elements harmoniously and flawlessly. I even feel so open and free with the combination of the full-width layout and pure, spacious design. Besides, it gives you an appealing static homepage to display the advanced features in diverse ways.

Other elements

The main color scheme in the demo makes me feel really refreshed and bright. It's the combination of the light grey and white background, black text, making my eyes very comfortable to view the page. Especially, I really love the light blue elements throughout the theme as they give me a peaceful and cool feeling. As for the typography, there is only one family font: the common Open-sans used with different styles. It's tremendously readable, clean and straightforward.

On the first screen, I'm pretty sure that you will suddenly be attracted by the amazing full-screen hero image. It also contains the title, read more button and scroll-down button to strongly stimulate people to explore your website. The header also appears in this area and I think that it's a reasonable position to save the space for other elements and draw the reader's eyes to the beautiful hero image.

The author uses diverse ways to show the special features on the front page. For example, the hero content is full-screen, the testimonials are in the form of a slider and the blog is grid-based, which makes this page extremely versatile. Moreover, having a clean and straightforward design doesn't mean that the author doesn't pay attention to the minor details. You can see that he use decorative tools very wisely. Like in this testimonial, the quotation marks and straight lines seem to be minor things but it plays an important role in drawing the people's eyes on this area. And now do you see how meticulous the author is?

On the front page in the demo, the author hides the layout to focus on the body content. But if you want, you can show or hide the sidebar on the different pages in the Customizer. Similarly, you can enable the featured image on the single post page to make it more creative.

Responsive

This free WordPress theme can deliver an optimized design for iPhones, iPads, and other mobile devices. It means that the design is beautiful in every device without mistake. Although the hero image is narrower in tablets and smartphones, the general design is still good. You can see the responsive design checked by ami.responsivedesign.is.

This theme can run smoothly after being activated without any enclosed plugin. To make your website look like the demo, you have to set up it in the traditional way as this theme's not compatible with the one-click demo import.

To manually set up it, it's a bit complicated. First, you have to install the Essential Content Type plugin to have the Featured Content,  Portfolio, Services, and Testimonial section. It's recommended in the Customizer and very easy to be activated. After that, you can use the Customizer and Dashboard to easily turn your website to a beautiful page as the demo. Notably, the hero image is already like one from the demo and you can keep or change it as you want.

This theme is fully compatible with the necessary features for a business website and other interesting ones. But in the free version, there are not many options for these features.

The Portfolio, Services, Testimonials, and Featured Content are compatible with the Essential Content Types plugin.

Social linking and Video background will make your website prettier and more diverse.

By using the Customizer, you can edit the majority of the available features easily. There are many optimization tools for you to modify both basic and advanced features.

Firstly, you have to write the content for the Featured Content, Portfolio, Testimonial, and Services before customizing them. It's very simple to create the posts for these sections in the Dashboard as the way you add the new normal posts.

And now, in the Customizer, you can choose to show/hide them, or select the number of posts and their location ( on homepage only or on the entire page). The number of the featured post sliders and featured content is up to 20, really generous for you to use. However, the featured slider only allows you to choose pages instead of other kinds of items.

Remember that the default number of columns for the featured content is 3 so you should add 3, 6 or 9...posts. Otherwise, it will leave a blank space on the right, looking unbalanced like I did.

The same thing happens with the portfolio. But the number of posts in this section is unlimited for you too freely show any posts you want. For example, I choose 30 number of items and there are exactly 30 tracks appearing here.

The testimonial section also has an unlimited number of items.

The front page option lets you choose any kind of category for the blog section, even all the category. Hence, you are able to show off your content as much as you want in the most effective way.

The style and structure of the archive page, header, footer are unchangeable. The only thing you can modify is the sidebar position. Although the layout style is still limited, I think it's still good to see all the given layout be applied properly.

Moving to the basic features, I see that this theme also has the color, background image to make your page more colorful and beautiful.

The header media section is a bit more sophisticated as there are many options for you to carefully style this area. Besides the static hero image, you are given another choice: a full-screen video to make your first screen super lively and outstanding. It's also very convenient when it supports Youtube URL. All you need to do is insert the link from Youtube, which dramatically saves your time to upload a video from your computer.

By creating a menu with the custom link and designate it to the social menu location, you can add an unlimited number of social media to your header. Thereby, it's possible for you to use any means of social media to connect with your reader.

Finally, I want to compliment that there are many modifiable, even minor things like pagination type, excerpt,...Only the typography keeps the default style but I think that it doesn't need any change as the default font is good enough.

 

This theme delivers all the necessary post formats and they are very simple to use. I'm also a beginner in this field but I can quickly learn how to master the daily use in a couple of days.

The gallery is so beautiful and well-organized.

The video has a large frame so you can enjoy watching without zooming in.

The blockquote looks not much different from the normal texts but you can still distinguish them.

I check the SEO configuration and figure out that this theme hasn't been optimized for SEO yet. I hope that the author will improve it or recommend a plugin for SEO.

By using the PageSpeed Insights, I see that this theme has a medium speed. It's not an excellent result but I consider it as passable with a free theme.
