General Design

First, remember that RT Portfolio has a one-page design. So everything lies on the same page.

The most special thing about RT Portfolio is that the sticky header, footer, the left and right sidebar elements make everything seems to be framed. And then, when you scroll down, the smooth movement of the page inside this frame is just amazing! I feel like watching a movie the frame.

The second special thing is the use of shapes, decoration, and lines. That gives a strong feeling that whoever uses this free portfolio theme must be very creative, young, and dynamic. However, these elements are a bit "sharp", and sometimes, they're overused to me. For example, on one screen, there are many lines, decorations, ... like this and this style sometimes doesn't really bring a good effect.

And lastly, just review the symmetric of the layout. The author seems to shine the spotlight on the left side. Meanwhile, there is a blank space on the right side. This blank side is even larger on bigger screens. So I think that he should make the layout more balanced.

Other Elements

Color and Font

It's undeniable that the light blue color makes this free portfolio theme extremely youthful and fresh. Just look at it, you will surely feel like walking in the sky or wandering in an autumn lake. How about changing this color? I'm afraid that you can't and I will say more about it in the Customization section.

The Josefin San font just makes things look pointy. And I think that style get well with the straight elements and robust design of the whole. Besides, there is no other font option to replace it in order to make RT Portfolio "softer". Hmm, but I don't think you should change this font. It's already a good choice in general.

Single Post Page

I think RT Themes focus on showing off your images, your talents, skills, ... on the homepage, so the content on a single page is less prominent. Actually, the typography of the body content is small and difficult for me to read. Meanwhile, the title is so big! That layout is creative, but I'm not sure if it's really effective.

Responsive

It's not a problem if you want to see RT Portfolio on different devices. The design is still good and has no big mistake. I checked it with my PC and phone and you can also try it yourself.

This theme is very easy to be installed and set up. But after installing, RT Portfolio just looks like a "sketch" so you need to do something.

If you manually set up it, you need to work with the Live Customizer. That's not so difficult. But remember to set up the static home page and page attribute. If you're a beginner, I'm afraid that will confuse you a bit.

I was so surprised that RT Portfolio theme is built without any page builder. All the essential features for a personal portfolio are built-in like the testimonial, skill score, my client, my team, ... Moreover, it supports social linking icons to help recruiters know more about you.

The Customizer is made to be so user-friendly and sufficient that you just need to stick with it to customize RT Portfolio theme.

Just look at the interface of the Customizer. It's native and easy for me to understand and manipulate all front page options. Particularly, all of them can be enabled with just one tick.

Moreover, the number of items to add for each section seems not to be limited. I added 5 more skills in the Banner Setting and they are all displayed properly.

Now, move to the Theme Options. If you don't like this one-page style, you can totally disable it. And well, there are not many, but enough basic features to deal with easily with one tick here.

If you want to have a better rank on SERPs, SEO optimization is important. But using some tools, I found that RT Portfolio hasn't been completely optimized for SEO yet.

Then, I checked this portfolio theme's speed with Google PageSpeed Insights. Mmm, I think that RT Portfolio should have some improvement in this aspect. Or when using this theme, you can try some way to speed up your site.

The documentation has all neccessary instructions to install, set up and customize this portfolio theme. But it looks like the author just stated all the options and panels in the Customizer and explain them. What I expect is more than that. It should be a guide on how to set up things like front page, how to set up social linkings, ... for example.

Just remember to choose the right section for RT Portfolio (not RT Portfolio Pro), and you can submit a ticket to the supporters. In the WordPress.org forum, the author just replied that users should send a ticket to their official support ticket. So I think you shouldn't ask for the author support here.
