General design

This theme totally resembles a book put on a table. The design bases on the cleanness and simpleness. It makes me feel so "real" and excited while reading.

Other elements

The color is cool and simple with the grey, back, and white. The bright blue also helps it a bit brighter. You can change only the color of the table but I think it's good to recolor it and make it less boring.

In the demo, when you click the sidebar menu to switch to other pages, it's like you are turning a real page of a book. However, the free version doesn't get that feature. It keeps the lively slide-out menu but doesn't have the flipbook like the demo.

This free version doesn't have the services section on the homepage so you just can display the whole content of the static front page you choose.

This WordPress resume has a special temperament, which is the static header on the left page of the book. It stays here in all pages to grab people's attention. It's also well-designed and prettified by a header image.

When I switched to an archive page, I found a matter with the heading and body texts. If a post doesn't have a featured image, the heading will partially cover the last part of the upper post.

Besides, the list structure can't be changed. But I think that listing style is the best way to display an archive page because the space for it is quite small.

Responsive

On a desktop, you can see that this WordPress resume keeps the design like a book. But when it comes to a tablet or smartphone, it looks different. However, it's still displayed reasonably and nicely on all devices.

You don't need any enclosed plugin or any extra step to use this WordPress resume immediately. Moreover, the manual set up is very simple with Customizer.

The front page profile is only compatible with the pro version.

Because there are not many custom features, you don't need to spend much time on customizing. And I think it's a good idea for a beginner like me. Especially, it becomes so simple with the help of Customizer and the live preview to edit things.

The social icons will appear when you insert the link on the right track. There are six default URLs, the most common ones enough to use.

You can change only the background color so it's impossible to make your website so colorful. To make up for it, there is an unlimited number of colors for you to choose from.

Adding a background image is a good way to prettify this theme. You can set up different positions and styles for the background image to make the perfect fit.

Lastly, there is only one widget area, which is the slide-out sidebar. All the common widgets from WordPress are available for you.

It's easy to use all the standard post formats to create any kind of post for your website. But I found some disadvantages.

For example, when you show a video, it's not fully displayed like this.

This WordPress resume is excellently optimized for SEO. But the speed hasn't been optimal yet. I used PageSpeed Insights to check the speed and here is the result. It's still quite low and needs to be improved

The author writes about how to install and set up this theme very carefully. As for customization, he wraps each part of customization in a video to help people understand better. However, this documentation is for the Pro version so you should read it carefully to pick up which part can be applied for this free version.

I find a support forum with the responses from the author. However, I don't know if it's for the pro or free theme.
