General design
Among all the themes I've reviewed, the design of this theme is one of the most impressive and distinctive. It has the minimalistic and retro style with all the abridged unnecessary elements and a spacious, elegant look. Besides, straight lines are still the principal element to give a simple and solid sense.
In general, it looks like a transparent piece of paper put on a table. The table has its background image, which can be seen quite clearly through the transparent paper. Especially, I'm very interested in the slide-in and slide-out effect of the body content area. It looks not only tremendously stunning and unique, but also allow the reader to view the full beautiful background image. With the combination of the static sidebar menu and the reasonable use of animation, this theme seems to be both moveable and calm. And that's the thing that not many themes can do.
Other elements
The author uses a black-and-white tone to create the balance, peace, and clarity of this site. I strongly believe that this combination is very powerful for your site.
The font is also very basic: Open-sans. This aims at the readable purpose and the modern, simple look.
The most interesting and special element of this theme is the fancy video background on the homepage. However, the free version doesn't have this feature so you have to buy the Premium one to have it.

The sidebar menu can be both a sidebar and a menu bar, a good way to minimize the design and concentrate more on the body content. This sidebar menu is also made to be pure with only the slim straight lines to divide different parts and decorate the theme as well.
On the archived post page, the posts are listed with the large featured image. The alignment of the excerpt is centered, looking very symmetrical with the whole site.

And on the single post page, I suppose that the reader may find it hard to read the text. The featured image of the page also becomes the background image. Now, the transparent paper becomes a disadvantage as the background image messes up the texts. So if you use this theme, you should choose the background image carefully to avoid this.

Responsive
The design of this free WordPress theme on different devices is very good. When I use this theme in my PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, I find no mistake in the responsive design at all.
