General design

Teller has a common design of a blog theme with cleanness, simpleness, and high legibility. Generally, it brings me comfort and freedom to use and view.

Other elements

This theme has very few decorative elements. Only some thin straight lines are used to separate and make the appearance less boring.

Straight lines used in the design

The color scheme focuses on purity and readability so there are mainly black and white. Some blue texts highlight the special parts but this color doesn't seem to influence the design much, I think so.

Roboto and PT Serif are the two family fonts which focus on the clearness and simpleness. I see that they are well-matched with the fundamental design of this WordPress blog theme.

The header hero image only accepts a 1920x250 banner. This banner can showcase your "Call to action" very effectively and makes the header area prettier. The logo can be changed to another one, but can't be hidden. I think that's quite inconvenient for users. But I also suppose that the author intentionally keeps the symmetrical design of this area when forcing users to include a logo here.

Listing is the only style for the archive page. The most stunning feature of this list is the large featured image, which is very eyes-catching to me.

Overall, all the elements really get well with each other, bringing about the harmonious and friendly design.

After activating this WordPress blog theme, you can use it smoothly right away. Although it doesn't support one-click demo import, you will still have a website look like a demo if your website already is full of content. Especially, the header, logo, and title are imported from the demo.

Teller covers all the common features of a blog. But it's not rich enough to give you premium things like Instagram Feed, Social Sharing, or Slider. If you want to have more interesting features, you have to find plugins yourself as Envaios doesn't suggest any.

Customizer is the only tool you need to customize Teller. The Customizer includes mostly the basic elements like color, background image, header image, menu, and widgets that can be found in many other themes. Thereby, if you've already used a WordPress blog theme, it's very simple to work it out. If not, I bet that the work of customizing still won't challenge you.

There are changeable and unchangeable colors. The changeable color sections stop at two sections, but it can still change the whole look to some extent with the unlimited colors.

The social links section already appoints you to insert only 4 links here. Although they are the most popular ones, I'm still afraid that users will need more than these 4 default links to connect people with their other sites.

This theme doesn't have a footer widget area, just a sidebar on the right side. You are allowed to add any common widgets from a WordPress blog theme to the sidebar. This sidebar has only one default position and can't be hidden.

Finally, I just want to remind you of the hero image. As I said above, only 1920x250 image is accepted here. Hence, despite letting you crop the image to any size, the image will still show up with the default frame as I did here.

I checked the SEO optimization by some tools and it indicated that this WordPress blog theme hasn't been ready for SEO. The author doesn't recommend any plugin for this feature so if you want to have it in mind, you need to find one yourself.

In terms of speed, this theme has medium speed, which is quite passable. I tested by Google PageSpeed Insights, a prestigious tool from Google.
