Jumadi Theme Review

General Design

Jumadi looks so mysterious and dangerous with the red and black tone, bold and daring layouts, big fonts, ... It's like you're watching a horror movie or joining an adventure. But I think because of this special style, Jumadi just matches certain kinds of users.

Other Elements

Color and Font

As mentioned, the red and black color dominant every element of this free multipurpose theme. If you want your site to have a brighter look, don't worry, you can change the black background with any color. But the red color is unchangeable so I'm afraid that this color scheme may not totally suit your taste.

Jumadi uses big and bold typography. The solid and strong fonts make it much more robust. You can also change the typography, but I think the default style is the best choice for the theme's spirit.

Page Layout

Besides the full-width default layout, Jumadi is flexible with changeable container width and styles. As for me, all styles look okay. I just find that the one container style and separate container style aren't so different!

Header and Footer Layout

The header layout is also flexible. I reviewed all the layout:

And think that the default style is still the best, especially, the left-hand title makes the layout more well-organized.

Similarly, you can choose the container or full-width layout for the footer. But it doesn't really important to me because both layouts are good. Just look at the footer column. Even when you choose up to 5 columns, it's still tidy.

Sidebar

Except for changing the sidebar position or hide it, you can't modify its style. I think that the author should add another style, which separates or distinguish the different widgets in the sidebar make it airier and readable.

Archive Pages and Single Post Pages

There is one style to display posts on archive pages. I love the large featured images, but I don't think displaying the category like this is a good idea.

Although these small icons are beautiful, the arrangement of this content leaves a lot of blank space, making each post look unsymmetrical.

Responsive Design

It's no doubt that this free multipurpose theme display beautifully and reasonably in all viewports. But I find that the header menu on mobile takes a lot of space. In my opinion, it should be smaller to be harmonious with other elements.

This is my site after installing this free WordPress theme.

As you see, it hasn't had the data and appearance like the demo yet. To make it happen, you have to options: importing demo data or manually setting up your site.

Import Elementor Template

If you choose the first option, it's quicker with the help of WPKoi Templates for Elementor plugin. But the manipulations are more complicated compared to other themes' demo import I've used. On the other hand, it's more excellent in terms of the demo library. WP Koi team doesn't limit you to the Jumadi template. If you want to try others, just import the demo you want and it will display nicely.

After importing the demo data, my site becomes a copy of the Jumadi free demo except for the layout. However, the layout isn't full-width and you need to add the topbar menu.

And it seems like you can only import the homepage template so other pages like About us or Contact need you to touch your hand.

Manual Set Up

Manual set up means you have to use Elementor to build some pages from scratch. I don't recommend it even when you're familiar with this tool because I think it's wiser to import the demo template and then edit it.

Because this free multipurpose theme is perfectly compatible with Elementor, you can benefit from all common widgets from this page builder to build the needed features for your site. Especially, WooCommerce compatibility will help you own an online store.

Other than these advanced features, you still have common things like Social linking, standard post formats, custom fonts and colors.

Customize with Elementor

All the common widgets of the free Elementor look good in Jumadi. Notably, along with the widgets from Elementor, you are provided with 4 special widgets from WP Koi. I reviewed all of them. They look great and easy to use!

Customize with the Customizer Tool

There are a lot of custom features in the Customizer so I think you should be patient when dealing with them. But don't worry, the Customizer easy to use with a simple interface.

General Interface

Like most of the free WordPress themes I've reviewed, Jumadi allows people to selects options in a dropdown menu. That's not a new idea, but it's a safe method. Therefore, all users, even beginners can deal with use this method to customize their theme easily. Especially, when choosing a width, this kind of selection bar makes your customization so fast and convenient.

How about customizing colors? You can choose any color, and 5 custom color sections are not many, but it can still make your site so colorful. Furthermore, all of them can be changed properly.

Some disadvantages

Nothing is perfect! Jumadi should let users crop the header images.

Or at least make it display nicely right after being chosen.

But they are not really a big matter. So I still enjoy customizing with this Customizer.

All the standard post formats work well and display beautifully. For example, the gallery is well-organized even when the images inside have different size.

But the video display has a problem. When I chose the right alignment, it changes the video frame like this.

I tested the speed of Jumadi with PageSpeed Insights. The result is not good so you should use some methods to increase your site speed.

Besides, I verified SEO optimization with some special methods. This theme hasn't been effectively optimized for SEO yet so I think you should try some SEO plugin to improve it.

Like other themes from WP Koi, Jumadi has general docs and additional docs as well as FAQs and there is no documentation for only Jumadi. All are well-written and formatted. Notably, the author provides some video tutorial to make it more visual and understandable.

Users can seek help using a free contact form. You can describe your problem and receive free support from the development team.

In the wordpress.org support forum, the author supports very quickly and kindly.
