General Design

Keenshot is crafted with good care and focus on detail as well as the harmonious. Hence, it looks both strong, robust, and creative with sharp, straightforward elements.

Color is used creatively and wisely. On the homepage, you can see there are various colors, but they get really well with each other. For example, the black background and white text are a good choice to make this area dynamic and chic. If you choose a yellow image in this place like the demo, it'll be more effective. I also love the decorative patterns like these white dots ...

Or this straight line. They're simple, but really perfect when combining with the total design. Moreover, this area is also colored beautifully with pink and mint blue, which are the complementary color. These colors have a slight contrast, which brings about emphasis and harmony at the same time.

In terms of fonts, I don't have any comment about the Montserrat and Babes Neue family fonts. They are simple, readable, and make this free photography theme so intuitive and clear.

The About me page is so attractive. It still follows the beautiful color scheme of the homepage and the intuitive, extensive design. The Portfolio page is in the same line, but this page is more prominent with large heading and more highly contrasting colors.

However, the single post pages seem not to receive as much care as the pages above. You can see that the not well-spaced lines of texts make it cramped and narrow. Even the featured images are so small and symmetrical with the body texts.

Responsive

On any device, the design can adapt well with reasonable and nice layouts. But the hero slider on PC still looks best!

Thanks to one-click demo import, you can instantly have a perfect website like the demo. It's extremely quick and simple to use so that even a beginner like me can do it in a blink of an eye. Besides, there are 2 pre-made demos, which are all beautiful for you to choose from.

If you want to set it up in a traditional way, it's not that simple because it requires you to use Elementor to build the homepage and other elements of your website. But first, you need to set up the static homepage and choose the Elementor template for that page, which is not difficult, but a bit complicated if you haven't tried page builder.

Finally, no matter how you set up this theme, the Instagram Feed in the footer needs setting up. After you install the Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed plugin or importing the demo, set up this plugin is a must to display the Instagram photos, which is a bit difficult for beginners.

Elementor compatibility is the key feature of Keenshot. Besides, you're recommended to install Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed plugin, the useful plugin to display and connect with Instagram photos.

But if you want to have more interesting features like Social Sharing, Social Linking, ... to connect the website with your social channel and widely share your photos, you have to find and install plugins.

Using Elementor, you can customize everything with all the basic modules from Elementor free version. To have more modules, you have to buy a premium version.

Meanwhile, with Customizer, you are just given basic options like header, footer, color section, ...

There are only two color options. The header text can be recolored and displayed everywhere, but the background color just can be seen on the Elementor-built homepage.

Next, you can't crop the header image:

So you should crop the image before uploading it to have the desirable frame.

Then, I will continue to review the widgets section. Interestingly, together with the common widget from WordPress, you're provided with two others from Keenshot.

They are prettier than the default widgets so I recommend you should use them.

Lastly, there are some sections that I think they're only available in the premium version. The first one is the login page section. I can't find the login page and don't see any result after adding the logo and page banner.

Similarly, the Footer Address has the same problem.

All the common blocks from Gutenberg displays nicely and easy to use.

The media blocks are full-width with others. But when I choose the full-width and wide-width alignment, they look similar to other alignments, nothing is different at all.

Other blocks are normal. For example, the blockquote is not much distinctive but different from other texts enough to distinguish.

I checked this free photography theme by Google PageSpeed Insights. The result is not good, indicating that this theme is still quite low.

After verifying SEO by some special method, I see that Keenshot needs more steps to be completely ready for SEO.

I was searching for this free theme's documentation but I couldn't find it. Maybe the author will update it later.
